Stitchup RR-Kelly

Kelly

Ah, St Patrick’s Day, when everybody channels their inner Irish.

Here’s how my hunt for a StitchUp subject went on March 17: I walked past the Rose & Thistle where an Irish lady was outside singing in a great raspy voice. Then I made my way up Water Street and on to George to catch people getting off work and shuffling into their favorite Irish pubs. Folks were wearing HUGE green sparkly hats, guys wearing “I ♣ Beer,” and girls wearing “Feelin’ Lucky” T-shirts.

Where oh where is the personal St. Paddy’s Day style?

But then on my way back down Water Street, I came across Kelly and her friend Janine. I think subtlety is the name of the game when celebrating holidays. Kelly actually recycled her green-flecked shirt from “an over sized moo moo,” and the rest of her palette is muted and subdued… until you get to those poppin’ green shoes!

How did you do St. Paddy’s Day?

This Is an archive of a 3 year long project i created for the soon to be defunct "TheScope" arts and entertainment magazine. t’s not a new idea, there are a million and one street style photographer’s these days. But just as with my ACITYLIKEOURS project i like the idea of documenting Our space in this period of time. Our little space on this planet though not as isolated as years past, has its own take on style that comes from its rich history and connection with the sea that surrounds us. I like to think of this project as a typology of personal style.
